Recruiting a Sales Manager
Braidwood Hospitality Management has over 40-years experience in training hospitality Sales Managers. We have managed sales and catering teams ranging in size from 3 to 15 managers selling in all market segments in hotels ranging from 50 to 700 rooms.
Braidwood’s sales training covers the total sales process from prospecting to closing the sale. Instruction includes writing hotel sales correspondence, agreements and contracts, time management, overcoming objections, when to say “no?, hospitality telephone sales, outside calls, negotiation skills, asking for the business, getting organized, writing a sales plan, producing a hotel sales budget, installation, training, uses and applications of Customer Relationship Management software CRM) and the all important step of following up.
Braidwood has the proven experience in recruiting, selecting and training the right sales person for the job. For those General Managers or Owners who currently “wear the hat? but need help, we offer an off-site virtual hospitality sales solution that gets results. Where no sales function exists then our off-site solution is one to consider if you need to grow your market share and increase market penetration against your competitive set.
Hotel sales can create a duel role for the General Manager in most small and medium sized hotels & resorts. Where an in-house sales function exists it sometimes operates with little or no direction, focus or planning. Where no on-site hotel sales manager or sales leadership exists, it can be a fractured and reactive process at best. For hotels & resorts preferring to adopt the on-site approach to sales the issue is one of attracting and retaining the required experience and maturity given the limited salary and related expenses. In this case compromise is reached, the wrong person is hired and mediocrity in performance and results prevail.
